Cardhollow and the Briar Road
Where it starts
A shrine town. A courier post. A parcel that should have stayed shut. Slimes on the road, and they have a spokesman.

A real-time card RPG. Dodge, dash and play cards live. Walk a hand-built HD-2D world, one chapter at a time.
PlayFree in your browser. No install. Single player. Story first.
The world was kept whole by seventy-two cards. The Astral Arcana. Not spells. Laws. One for fire. One for the rain. One for the angle of the dawn.
The Card Knights kept them. Then the order scattered. Now the stars hang in the wrong places. Roads fold back on themselves. Misdeals spill out of the cracked shrines.
You are Oden. A courier from Cardhollow. Not a chosen hero. On your first day on the job, a parcel bursts open on the Briar Road, and a sealed deck answers to your hand alone.
No turns. A 4x8 grid. Your side is blue. Theirs is red. Move, dodge and fire live. Fill the gauge, pick a hand, chain the cards.
Fifty-plus cards. Seven elements, plus swords, bows and lances. Three decks to swap between. Armor and cardstock tune the rest.
Shrine towns. Storm harbors. Iron deserts. A mine under a living mountain. Every tile placed by hand, in HD-2D.
A cast with opinions, fully voiced. Side quests. Hidden cards. People worth talking to twice.
Five chapters, one road. Each town has its trouble. Each chapter puts a new element in your deck.
Where it starts
A shrine town. A courier post. A parcel that should have stayed shut. Slimes on the road, and they have a spokesman.
Lightning
A harbor under steady rain. Signal-keepers read the lightning like a card spread. The plant on the hill has gone quiet.
Earth
Magnetized iron dunes on the Rustmarch. A mining town run by a foreman's list of sixty-one rules. Under it, the Deep Vein.
The open country
The land opens up. Standing stones, a waystone vault, a quizmaster's parlor. A fishing hole, when you need a break.
Fire
The Charwood is burning. Burnside has gone cold. Find Kindle. Relight four hearths. Go down into the Great Hearth.

Keeps his study by the canal in Veilgate. Knows what the Old Order knew. Knock loud. He pretends not to hear.

The card-reader of Stormcrest. Her readings pay out in actual cards.

Not every slime wants a fight. Some of them want a word with management.
